Daily Challenge: Hear

I'm back from my holiday! In keeping with the theme of the previous poem, today's challenge is the sense 'hear'. Enjoy!

whispers

when young we spoke in
whispers, our
peevish words
slapping against plump
lobes and our
sugary breath
snaking into our
minds.
then one day we
noticed -
after days of
whispers,
we could no longer hear
our own thoughts.

Sisyphus

I've heard it said
   there's happiness
       to be found atop
           that hill and, and
               all it costs is one
                   dirty great rock.  o

Ideally the rock would be a black spot but an 'o' is the best I could do within the limits of the comments window.

Faux ami

You seemed to hear my words before
I'd even spoken.
As I shared my soul, you bared yours, and
Together we'd talk for hours,
Finishing each other's thoughts.
My deepest fears, my future dreams,
I unwrapped for you like gifts,
Savouring your pearly hopes,
Your shadowy guilt, as if my own.

Until one day, I heard your words - The ones not meant for me.
