sometimes when i walk along
my shoes will start to squeak
i start to step much softer
to make the squeaking weak
i wonder who can hear it
and what they'd think of me
and wonder why it's shameful
to have shoes squeak endlessly

reminds me of wearing cords as a big kid...back in the day
Hahaha! Excellent observation. I'm not a skinny person, so I totally understand how the sound of cords scraping between your thighs is not very good for boosting your self-esteem!
I think any sound that could be related to you being somehow physically under (or over) developed is curiously embarrassing.
