Daily Spark Word: Old

Today's challenge is to construct a poem based on the word 'old'. Enjoy!

Antique

dust-filled grooves are
blown by
lavender breath

engraved words read
don't touch
but who can stop?

I usually avoid these challenges - I never write my best work like this - but, as a bit of fun:

Old Souls

There is oldness
in everything.

It just needs time
to bring it out.

I see it in
my daughter's face.

Behind the eyes.

Thanks! I like this piece, with its simple but evocative meaning.

The challenges are indeed meant to be fun; it is unlikely that anyone will write the next great poem, but you might find you create something that you can take away and polish. My goal is just to encourage people to write every day, regardless of quality, so I'm glad your contributing!

I like the 4-2-4 syllable scheming. Kept the poem flowing for it's small read. Nicely done.
